The financial planning process
Our approach to financial planning is built around an internationally recognised process, which incorporates the following steps:
Discovery
We will allow you the opportunity to tell us as much about you as you wish to and to discuss any worries that you may have, as well as any hopes that you may have for the future.
We will help you to gather all the information required for a satisfactory financial planning exercise, including all financial paperwork and liaising with any existing investment or insurance providers that you may have. We will also request state pension forecasts for you and details of legal documents, such as Wills and Trusts.
Strategy
Once we have gone through everything for you in a great amount of detail we will have developed a clear picture of your current financial situation and be able to start to formulate a strategy to move you from where you are now to where you want to be at some future point.
We will discuss our recommendations with you and give you the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions, before finalising the steps that need to be taking in the short, medium and long-term, which we will confirm in writing to you.
Implementation
You are then free to implement our recommendations as you wish, and we can provide guidance on the most suitable way to go about this, which may include recommending financial products, which we will select for you from the whole market, as well as introducing you to other professionals who will help you to write appropriate Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney, for example.
We will always tell you how much you will have to pay for this part of the process.
Reviews
The progress of your plan should then be updated at regular intervals which we will agree with you, and adjustments made as necessary, depending on changes in circumstances or economic factors.
